Raggamuffin started out as a side project of legendary Detroit reggae band Black Market. Bob Monteleone (guitar, vocals), Mitch Purdy (drums) and James Megerian (bass, vocals)would slip in trio gigs between Black Market dates, taking a free-form approach to genres, whether it be country-blues, Hendrix, or psychedelic reggae.
Raggamuffin continues that tradition today, playing steadily in metro Detroit and all over the Midwest.
